I'm completely new to Surfing, so if there's anyone who could point me in the right direction I'll greatly appreciate it.

Getting the right gear is going to be your first hurdle: You can either buy used/new equipment, or rent a board and wetsuit. iSport has some really good guides on how to get started.

Here's one on learning how to surf: http://surfing.isport.com/surfing-guides/learning-to-surf

Here's one on how to purchase your first board: http://surfing.isport.com/surfing-guides/purchasing-your-first-surfboard

I'd also recommend scrolling through the rest of iSport's guides -- they do a better job of summing up the skills than I do:

Once you have the gear, you just need to pick your beach. You'll probably want to check the swells online (surfline.com is my recommendation) and make sure the waves aren't too massive for a beginner. Is there anything specifically you want to know, or does this help out?
